Supporting wellbeing through compassionate guidance and professional care

Notice:
To ensure the quality of care we provide, mental health referrals are currently closed due to capacity constraints.
The service will remain closed until further notice,
and we thank you for your patience.
At Afghan Association Paiwand Ltd, we provide free, culturally and linguistically appropriate counselling services for refugees, asylum seekers, and individuals facing emotional challenges.
With over 18 years of experience, our mission is to empower people from all ethnic backgrounds across London. Through one-to-one counselling and psycho-education sessions, we help individuals overcome emotional hardship, build resilience, regain confidence, and reach their full potential. Last year we saw 157 individuals and held 920 one-to-one counselling sessions in native languages of Farsi/Dari and Pashto.

We also advocate for better access to mental health services for refugees and asylum seekers by working with professionals and local authorities.
All our mental health counsellors are fully registered members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring the highest professional and ethical standards of care.
Our Mental Health and Counselling Team is here to help you cope with emotional challenges, trauma, and the stress of rebuilding life in a new country.
We focus on understanding, cultural sensitivity, and practical support — helping you find peace, confidence, and strength to move forward.
Our experienced counsellors provide free one-to-one sessions in English, Dari, Farsi, and (when available) Pashto.
We help you work through anxiety, depression, trauma, and loss in a safe, confidential space where you can speak in your own language and feel understood.
We stand beside you in accessing mental health and community resources.
Our advocates can help you:
Communicate with GPs or mental health services
Understand your rights to emotional and psychological support
Healing doesn’t have to happen alone.
Paiwand offers psycho-educational workshops and peer support groups, where people with shared experiences can learn new skills, reduce isolation, and rebuild confidence together.
We provide counselling for young people aged 15–30 from refugee and migrant backgrounds, especially those living, working, or studying in Harrow.

At Paiwand, we follow an inclusive approach that welcomes clients from every community and background. Our Mental Health and Advocacy services are designed to meet the needs of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers facing a wide range of challenges.
If you require regulated assistance with any immigration issue, please contact our team to discuss how we can help.
At Paiwand, we understand that healing happens best when your culture, language, and faith are respected. Our counsellors provide safe, understanding, and confidential support, tailored to the unique experiences of refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrant communities.
We offer therapy that speaks your language — both literally and culturally — helping you explore your emotions in a space where your beliefs and identity are valued. With years of experience supporting diverse communities, Paiwand is a trusted place to find strength, hope, and connection.
