Biography

Ramzia is a trained therapeutic counsellor specialising in the Islamic Counselling model. She serves as a Senior Counsellor at Paiwand, where she leads the Afghan Response programme. Ramzia provides faith-based and culturally sensitive one-to-one counselling, group sessions, parenting workshops, and professional training focused on refugee and migrant mental health.

She has extensive experience supporting people facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, bereavement, postnatal depression, and low self-esteem. Her sessions are offered in Dari/Farsi and English, making them accessible and personal to the communities she serves.

Ramzia is also trained in post-cult counselling and has a deep understanding of power dynamics and control within relationships and high-demand groups.

She is a registered member of the BACP and follows its ethical framework in all areas of her work.
