Sessional Youth Worker

Fees: £40/session

Hours:1.5 hour sessions x 1 per week

Responsible to:Youth Project Manager

Job length:30 sessions/9 months

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To plan and deliver a weekly Youth Club which comprises of focused activities.
  • Prepare a programme for each session thoroughly in advance and review content, presentation and relevance.
  • Source external organisations that can provide ad hoc sessions in life skills and applied arts.
  • Keep appropriate and efficient records.
  • Report on the development, progress and attainment of young people.
  • Participate in meetings which relate to the project delivery.
  • Communicate and work effectively with other members of the team.
  • Check young people’s feedback with the Youth Project Manager and act on any relevant points related to the feedback.
  • Follow policies on health & safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding children and child protection in all aspects of work.
  • Assist with the supervision of young people, on a rota basis.
  • Facilitate and motivate a lively participation in group by each young person, not simply the more confident ones.
  • Work with the Youth Project Team so ensure continued and increased engagement in the group.
