Wellbeing and Support Manager

Part Time // £15,500 (25 hours per week)

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, diligent and caring professional with excellent attention to detail to join our Housing team as the Wellbeing and Support Manager. You will provide support to unaccompanied minor young men aged 16-21 as they integrate into life in the UK. Many of these young people have complex needs and have experienced traumatic journeys and situations, and so it is the Wellbeing and Support Manager's responsibility to create a welcoming and safe space that facilitates their motivation, aspiration and achievement. Your daily activities will include advocacy, attending appointments, delivering 1:1 support and liaising with other professionals (e.g. social workers, GPs, solicitors). You will work alongside other Paiwand Youth Projects, and report to the Family Services Manager.

We are looking for an experienced candidate who has worked with vulnerable young people in previous roles. Our ideal candidate will have brilliant communication skills, both verbally and in writing; an ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload; understanding of issues facing refugees and asylum seekers in accessing services, knowledge of child protection and current legislative frameworks and a strong commitment to high quality youth work. 

About you...

• You will have at least 2 years experience working with young people with challenging behaviours

• You will have excellent communication skills, both with other professionals and with young people with limited English
• You will have excellent understanding of issues facing refugees and asylum seekers, including knowledge of child protection and current legislative frameworks

• You will be able to work flexibly, with occasional evening and weekend work

• You will have a strong commitment to providing high quality work with young people

Saturdays // 9.30am-12pm // Location: Child’s Hill Primary School (Barnet) or Edgware Primary School.
Salary: £60 per session

Paiwand is looking for two experienced and passionate people to join our team of ESOL tutors - supporting people to learn English. You will be based in a our community Saturday Schools (Edgware or Cricklewood) to support the adult learning programme. You will be responsible for the delivery of effective Teaching of
ESOL. You will deliver engaging and supportive teaching sessions, as well as motivate learners to raise their ambitions and realise their full potential.

About You..

  • You will have qualifications in: Celta, Post 16 Teaching Certificate, ESOL
  • Experience preferred in Teaching ESOL or EAL or TEFL (however new tutors will be considered)
  • You are independent, adaptable and organised
